ZILLA'S
STATEMENT |
|
A NOTE FROM ZILLA I posted the above statement on the main page of Thumbzilla. I have been receiving some emails in response to my statement, along with many other statements from people around the world. Some of these emails are very supportive, some lash out bitterly at Americans, and others contain statements that are quite stirring and/or moving. And, I have to say, there are just plain...well... I think it is better if you judge for yourself. I am posting them below, and will continue to post them as I receive them. I did not correct any spelling or grammatical errors...I am posting them just as I receive them. I have left out the names of the people who sent the emails and of any sites to which they referred...instead of the name or site, i just inserted (name) and (site). Everything else is exactly as I received it. I have decided also to put a number for each email so that if you are writing an email response and wish to refer to any of the other posted emails, you can simply refer to it's numbers so that the readers can easily find the email to which you are referring. It is indeed true that in times of hardship, you find out who your real friends are. Keep in mind that not only Americans were killed in this act of war, but also many people from many countries. The fact is, people from 80 countries were killed in this despicable act of war. Additionally, I would like for you to be able to read the full text of President Bush's speech to Congress and to the world that he gave on Thursday, September 20, 2001. To read the speech, click here. Regards, your friend, (-)Zilla(-) You can email Zilla with your statement at webmaster@thumbzilla.com |

| 001 Hooah! I'll be glad to fight at your back anytime. BTW: nice site. |
| 002 I read your piece on the terrorist attack on New York and agree with every word you say.I hope that it will not come to the U.S.A. standing alone - you have a lot of friends out here who appreciate American friendship, hospitality and honesty. Anyone with a knowledge of 20th century history should be aware of what the world owes you and should be ready to stand up and be counted. |
| 003 We must now look into ourselves and ask "What can I do?". You can stand side by side with you brothers and sisters of America, and unite to tell the spineless pukes to watch their backs!!!!!!!! Look to each other for strength and courage. Ws can not or should not let this thing get us down. When we are with our loved ones cherish the time we have together because we may never know our fate. A simple I LOVE YOU goes along way. "GOD BLESS AMERICA MY HOME SWEET HOME" |
| 004 hi jus a note to say that you happen to have missed off the fact that 1,000+ British people died along side the Americans in the Twin Towers attack...I mean you have made it sound like the USA is all on its own fighting the war against terror all on its own...i mean i am English and you are our cusins and closest allies why would we leave you alone? Also that link that you have goin to the comment 'The Americans' do you not wonder why the USA has to help every other country in the world? coz you are the biggest...highest income etc so why cant you help others? i mean after WWII when you helped others out...i think its the least that you could do considering the pounding we took for you...how long did it take for the USA to join the war? 3-4yrs hmmm? i should freakin hope that you helped us out! what would have happened if we had fallen in that war? even you would have been screwed! I dont mind the USA tryin to keep moral up in a time like this but think of the people that help you...today in my college we help 3 minutes silence jus like everyone else in the country...our Primeminister is in talks with your President about action...as in military action...now dont tell me that the world aint helpin you! we have even sent our special search teams + dogs to help you in the search for survivors! it really annoys me that you Americans seem to think that you did everything
sorry to moan on an on but i jus want you to realise that the Brits

| 005 In reference to the cowardly attack on 911 on the WTC. Wanted to share this with you. My son sent it to me, feel free to pass it on. I hope we wipe these bastards and their way of life off the face of the earth. In a message dated 9/13/01 9:49:34 AM Mountain Daylight Time, (name) writes: The Barbarians Will Learn What America's All About By (name) Syndicated columnist They pay me to tease shades of meaning from social and cultural issues, to provide words that help make sense of that which troubles the American soul. But in this moment of airless shock when hot tears sting disbelieving eyes, the only thing I can find to say, the only words that seem to fit, must be addressed to the unknown author of this suffering. You monster. You beast. You unspeakable bastard. What lesson did you hope to teach us by your coward's attack on our World Trade Center, our Pentagon, us? What was it you hoped we would learn? Whatever it was, please know that you failed. Did you want us to respect your cause? You just damned your cause. Did you want to make us fear? You just steeled our resolve. Did you want to tear us apart? You just brought us together. Let me tell you about my people. We are a vast and quarrelsome family, a family rent by racial, cultural, political and class division, but a family nonetheless. We're frivolous, yes, capable of expending tremendous emotional energy on pop cultural minutiae, a singer's revealing dress, a ball team's misfortune, a cartoon mouse. We're wealthy, too, spoiled by the ready availability of trinkets and material goods, and maybe because of that, we walk through life with a certain sense of blithe entitlement. We are fundamentally decent, though - peace-loving and compassionate. We struggle to know the right thing and to do it. And we are, the overwhelming majority of us, people of faith, believers in a just and loving God. Some people - you, perhaps - think that any or all of this makes us weak. You're mistaken. We are not weak. Indeed, we are strong in ways that cannot be measured by arsenals. Yes, we're in pain now. We are in mourning and we are in shock. We're still grappling with the unreality of the awful thing you did, still working to make ourselves understand that this isn't a special effect from some Hollywood blockbuster, isn't the plot development from a Tom Clancy novel. Both in terms of the awful scope of its ambition and the probable final death toll, your attacks are likely to go down as the worst acts of terrorism in the history of the United States and, indeed, the history of the world. You've bloodied us as we have never been bloodied before. But there's a gulf of difference between making us bloody and making us fall. This is the lesson Japan was taught to its bitter sorrow the last time anyone hit us this hard, the last time anyone brought us such abrupt and monumental pain. When roused, we are righteous in our outrage, terrible in our force. When provoked by this level of barbarism, we will bear any suffering, pay any cost, go to any length, in the pursuit of justice. I tell you this without fear of contradiction. I know my people, as you, I think, do not. What I know reassures me. It also causes me to tremble with dread of the future. In days to come, there will be recrimination and accusation, fingers pointing to determine whose failure allowed this to happen and what can be done to prevent it from happening again. There will be heightened security, misguided talk of revoking basic freedoms. We'll go forward from this moment sobered, chastened, sad. But determined, too. Unimaginably determined. You see, there is steel beneath this velvet. That aspect of our character is seldom understood by people who don't know us well. On this day, the family's bickering is put on hold. As Americans we will weep, as Americans we will mourn, and as Americans, we will rise in defense of all that we cherish. Still, I keep wondering what it was you hoped to teach us. It occurs to me that maybe you just wanted us to know the depths of your hatred. If that's the case, consider the message received. And take this message in exchange: You don't know my people. You don't know what we're about. You don't know what you just started. But you're about to learn. |
| 006 zilla i just want you to know after reading your piece on the terrible attrocities that have taken place that the whole of the UK stands by America's side in the hunt for the terroists who commited this hienous act . Our hearts and souls go out to the victims and families of the people who were lost , indeed to all Amricans and other nationalities, including ourselves who lost friends and family. | 007 Hello, webmaster, My name is (name), and I'm French (sorry for my poor english). I write you just few words about your letter called "The Americans" . There are informations you don't know about France... Perhaps CNN don't tell then to US people, so I want to give you Information about what appen in France, since this terrible day of 11-09-01. All the peoples, in France and in Europe, are very very sad. Thru this terrible disaster, all the democraties are hit. You have strong words about us in your letter, and I would like to correct some words : -France is THE FIRST COUNTRY in the world saying is military help to USA... -Our Special Fire Men, and Unit Search with dogs, are ready to go to New-York, since the fist hour of the disaster, but your goverment don't send us yet the autoristaion to act... Nobody in France forgot what USA done for us and Europe. Sorry but, your wrong... Hope you will change your mind, USA are not alone... |
| 008 I would like to thank you for placing a most compelling and valid statement on your main page regarding the vicious N.Y. attack by a group of cowards. Here in BC, Canada, we are completely behind your retaliation plans and wish you the very best in rebuilding a strong America. |
| 009 I just wanted say that I am also in the Adult sites, but its more of just a hobby with me... I was very moved by you(webmaster) show of sorrow, and understanding to the recent event... I too have known lose past and present!! And I stand 100% behind this country!!! And "The Eagle Mourns". It is a page everyone should read!!! To get the full understanding where OUR money has been going, and to finally see who OUR true friends are now!!!! It is so easy to say words like I love you, I feel your pain, We feel your sorrow. But when it comes down to actually helpping someone out, even though it might cause you and your country, family, and friends alittle discomfort, or lose... Well like I said we see who our friends are now... If its not OLD GLORY!! Then it is not a true friend!!! I don't like to fight, or harm anyone.. But, I do believe that we suffered and turned the other cheek too long!! This time it costed all of us too much!!! My prayers go out to all who felt pain!!! I know a mother who her son this week!! As I kiss my son good night, I can feel her pain!! And there can be no greater pain then attending your children's burial!!! |
| 010 thanks for the piece on america am a vet to and hope we can weed these assholes out of our country |
| 011 i am sorry for the comments thats i came out with...they were not meant to sound bitter at the time of writting...but having re-read what i wrote i can see where you are coming from. i am can see that you Americans have been hit extremely hard and need to comfort each other, but it jus seems that the sypathy that our country has given to u has been 'ignored' (that is probably the wrong word) our Primeminister, even our Queen have shed tears for your country. the resent ment that i hold for your country stems from the fact that you like to idea that you saved the world during the wars...what would have happened if everyone else had fallen? also that fact that your countyr has pulled out of the Keoto Agreement about cutting waste emisions from factories etc...every one knows that cutting emisions is a waste of time if the USA does not partcipate to the same extent as everyone else, 25% of the world population makin 75%ish of the world pollution...does that seem fair? (these figures are probably wrong! :oD) i really respect how the USA is holding together and i would like to think that the UK would have handled the siuation just as well...it was selfish of me to complain at a time like this...any words that offend you i take back. i am truely sorry for what has happened...i could never have precieved that something like this would happen in my life time let alone this new centuary...i thought that the human race had left all that behind...i know i should leave my resentment back there! Again i wish to say i am sorry for my first e-mail! |
| 012 I just want you to know that I, as an Australian , living in England am horrified and outraged by the atrocities commited upon your nation. Be assured that your global neighbours will be willing and able to assist you in any way, upto and including the forcible eradication of the scum responsible. My thoughts and prayers are with you. |
| 013 Saw your site comment - RIGHT ON! I am a vet (go to "small wars" Aden) who spent 3 years in the Radfan Mountains of Yemen, I lost most of my pals. I am now with the Canadian military in Newfoundland, this is a Canadian Island in the North Atlantic and most of the flights landed here - 20,000 people. To give you an idea of scale, 10,000 stranded passengers landed at gander (central Nfld.) which has a population of 7,000. Gander done good dude! We mugged them - with love and tears . . . from out hearts. It has

| 017 I just wanted to let you know your writings on us was very inspiring and it touched my heart. I hope you don't mind but I sent it to everyone I know!! Thank you for fighting for us and believing in us. We need people like you to protect us. God Bless America Yours truly, (name) |
| 018 My opinion of america and its people is that you are by far the most self indulgent nation on earth. As a nation you put your economy above the fate of the world and care little for the efforts of others. Your patriotism to you country strikes me as strange when you pride yourselves on the achievements of a backward country. You only need to take a brief look at your history to be appalled. You exterminated the native indians colonizing the area with use of unreasonable force. You may wish to say that this was english and french who were largely responsible but yet again that is in your nature to deny or accept your heritage as it convinces you. More recently you act as the bullies of the world exercising your power and influence oppressively.I sympathize with you for the recent tragedy however the majority of the time i feel little for your country on the basis of your selfish acts. As a nation and not as individuals you appear to promote selfishness. I believe you should dramatically lower the amount of precious resources you consume at the loss of your economy in order to help us save a dying world. THE END (the author of this response is, I am sad to say, from England - Zilla) |
| 019 I want to start bij saying that I find what what happened a terrible tragedy, but I also find it ironic that these terrorists (or atleast their friends) were in fact trained (and supplied with weapons) by the CIA to fight communism just a few years ago! |
| 020 Dear Zilla I'm a loyal ziller and I've read your section dedicated to what recently happened in NY. I suppose my opinion it will be read, at least, if not published, so here you have 3 facts I have in mind and I would like to share with you. Fact 1 Fact 2 Fact 3 It makes you think... isn't it? |
| Note from Zilla: Sharon Christa McAuliffe, a true American heroine, was the schoolteacher/astronaut who perished in the space shuttle Challenger tragedy of 1986. She was also an Arab-American. |
|
021 You hit the Pentagon, but you missed America. You used helpless American bodies, to take out other American bodies, but like a poor marksman, you STILL missed America. Why? Because of something you guys will never understand. America is about an IDEA. An idea, that you can go someplace where
you can earn as much as you You guys seem to be incapable of understanding that we don't live in America, America lives in US! American Spirit is what it's called. And killing a few thousand of
us, or a few million of us, won't change it. Yeah, we're fat, sloppy, easy-going goofs most of the time. That's
an unfortunate image to project to the world, We were the FIRST and so far, only country in the world to use nuclear weapons in anger. Horrific idea, nowadays? News for you bucko, it was back then too, but we used it anyway. Only had two of them in the whole world and we used 'em both. Grandpa Jones worked on the Manhattan Project. Told me once, that right up until they threw the switch, the physicists were still arguing over whether the Uranium alone would fission, or whether it would start a fissioning chain reaction that would eat everything. But they threw the switch anyway, because we had a War to win. Does that tell you something about American Resolve? So who just declared War on us? It would be nice to point to some real
estate, like the good old days. There's a spirit that tends to take over people who come to this country,
looking for opportunity, looking for liberty, Wait until you see what we do with that Spirit, this time. Sleep tight, if you can. We're coming. |
| 022 dear zillia Hi, im (name), i know your going to edit my name out for the sake of privacy, but what the hell even without a face i must speak. I am english, throgh and trogh, balls to bone. what happend on september the 11th made me weep, weep for the loss of so meny innocent lives. thoses cowards struck a cizillian target. Now is not the time to see witch nation is the most sqeekie clean (thoght, we could chat about it later 'old been') now is the time to unite. we must deal with terrorisum, and the grouos that suport them, but we must also be mindfull, we (the uk and the usa) are thw two gratest nations on earth, for a reasion, compassion. we must strike our targets cafrefully, with sergicall acurasy, takeing the cancer out of the infected world, and leaving the innocent unharmed. i agree with you, never again should ANY incoent blood be spilt. I grew up fearing to go to london for IRA bombs, we as a nation suprot you, we will fight with you (as always) and we will not rest. this is OUR fight, and WE will win it TOGETHER kind regards (name) |
| 023 Zilla, I feel great sorrow for the victims of the WTC tradegy. I will not pretend to be able to put into words how bad I feel. Britain stands by America against this despicable act against the (mainly American) innocent. We, I am sure, will unreservedly stand with you against the scum who perpetrated this tyranny. I am sad to see "hate" e-mails sent to your countryfolk in this time of grieving. I read cringingly some e-mails from English people, trying to point out the errors of America's ways whilst not seeming to have a grasp on his own history. Was it not the British Empire that attempted to colonise much of the world, creating slave trades, cultural displacement & poverty in many previously blissful pockets of the world? And our 'everyone for themselves' attitude, grown in the 80s, hasn't exactly made us the most caring, fairest or understanding of nations. America's policies may not be perfect, but it's easy to pick faults from the shadows. I hope the free (& perhaps not-so-free) world can unite and rip apart the evil that has done this to you/us. From a country obsessed with justice, I have all faith that this will be done properly, so further injustice is prevented. My deepest sympathies, (name) A Brit / A European / Just A Person |
| 024 Hey Z, Attached is your earlier text message, along with two Even though I was too young for the Vietnam war (name) |
| 025 I can speak for MANY of the armed forces men and women when I say...."We're ready and more than willing to fight for the safety and freedom of our great land!" hoo rah! God Bless America! |
| 026 Hey, I just wanna tell ya.....you have a great site, I have been visiting it for over a year and am an IT geek and tell ALLLLLLLLLL my friend (around the world) about your site..... don't worry brother, we're gonna get through this. I'm in the military and we all look forward to serving the United States. In fact, you have no idea how much it pains us to sit back and wait until our leadership tells us what to do. however, I trust in our leadership 110% that they will do the right thing. I would just ask that you do what you can to promote the military's need for the American support. We love serving our country, but it's MUCH MUCH harder when the American people aren't behind us, because we signed up to do a job and that is what we're going to do. But when the American people are behnd us, it isn't a job.....it's a pleasure. Sorry so long, I know you have a million emails to read, but I thank you for your time out to read this one..... God Bless. (name) |
| 027 Hi 'Zilla. I am sorry for the grief that the terrorist attack caused to the americans and all the world. No-one should such acts of crime. However, referring to your script at Thumzilla Continuing the series of crime won't do any I believe that matters can ALWAYS be settled by As a non-american I got the impression that I understand the shock and grief, I understand Best wishes, live in peace, show dignity. |
| 028 Im an Aussie bloke. We are with you all the way.All the way!!!Our Prime Minster(Mr John Howard has invoked the Anzas Treaty)has issued a an order that Australian troops are to prepare for trouble.God bless him and America(and OZ too). Regards (name) Sydney,Australia. |
| 029 Keep up your great site, brother. Now for the bastards that hurt America. Remember the old Nazareth song? "Now Your Messing With A Sonbitch?" Well, it's Hair of the Dog and those bastards are messing with America, a real sonabitch. Thanks, zilla, peace..............ex seal |
| 030 A desert storm vet and departing soldier wanted to say goodbye to 'zilla for awhile. I dont really have any "speach" to give for I am to be the "mercilous response" to the attacks. All I can say is ( and being a vet you know), in my apache I can be quite ruthless too ; but i'll be flying home that night having hit prepared, military(hopefully) targets. Not this killing of unsuspecting women and children crap that allegedly some kind of crazy " bible " says is good to do. I can understand killing and I can understand cold-blooded murder, but I dont understand claiming " god " made me do it and thanked me for it. This is completely abberrated behavior ( schitzophrenia ,etc) and i refuse to believe anything other than a satanic cult is behind this and if they want to go by jihad, then fine. No respectable "bible"/ "koran" says to go out and murder, steal, lie, cheat and claim "god said to", its just one big excuse to be a monster. In fact the story unfolding has him looking more "anti-christ" than christ like; is that the goal ? Anyway, the shock more or less turned to complete confusion of trying to figure out "why" this is all happening, after I got the war call. world you're in my prayers, jihad you're now in my laser-lock sights. |
| 031 GOD BLESS AMERICA! VERY well said, wish I had said it myself. One salient point, if I may. PLEASE don't blame all Muslims for this cowardly act. Let's not forget all the finger pointing right after Oklahoma City, before it turned out to one of our own dirty little cowards. Let's take our time and make sure we do this right and get the snake by the head and not harm innocent civilians. They sure don't deserve to suffer for the bastards that did this, and hatred certainly isn't the message that Islam tries to spread. We need to stand united and finish off these dirty cowards once and for all. Let's make this a world where you don't need to feel the fear these pricks are trying to create. As Ronald Reagan so eloquently put it - "You can run, but you can't hide". May their souls rot in Hell. Thanks. May God (or your Gods) Bless us ALL, whichever God or Gods you prefer to believe in. (name) VA |
| 032 We (my wife and I) are sitting here reading all the mail_sent in regard to your words. Speaking for both of us, we reveled with great pride as we read your words. It sickens us though, during this time_people can be so shallow and
selfish. My wife and I lost it as we read on... Stand ready, EVIL ! |
| 033 From Spain, COURAGE. Go !!!!!!! |
| 034 I am proud to be an Australian , but never more so than when I saw our prime minister in the US parliament pledging our allegiance to the US people and nation. I am not aware if the US media has reported it but Australia lost over 100 people in the disaster and I am sure many other counties lost brothers, sisters, husbands and wives as well. Like Vietnam, Australia will support and defend the allies we have and the actions they take. yours brother in war and friend in peace |
| Note from Zilla: innocent people from 63 countries lost their lives in this cowardly act of war! |
